Funicular Railway of Montjuic

The Funicular Railway takes you from the city center of Barcelona to the top of the Montjuic mountain in just two minutes.

Many people confuse it with the teleférico (cable car).

The Funicular of Montjuic is like the metro and is connected to the network and the metro station Paral-lel. Almost the entire length of the route of only 758 meters is in tunnel except for the last few meters before reaching the station Parc Montjuic.

It was inaugurated in 1928 for the Universal Exhibition in Barcelona.
