    The National Art Museum of Catalonia

    The National Art Museum of Catalonia is located in the National Palace of Montjuic. The National Palace is the home of the Museum since 1934. Located on the mountain of Montjuic. The museum covers all the arts (sculpture, painting, object art, drawings, prints, posters, photography collection and collection of coins) and has the mission to explain a global discourse of Catalan art from the Romanesque to the mid-twentieth century.

    The museum has collections of Romanesque art, Gothic art, Renaissance and Baroque Art and Modern Art. You can also find a collection of photographs. Works from the collection of Renaissance and Baroque are by great painters such as, El Greco, Velazquez and Rubens, among others.

    The permanent exhibitions are Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque Legacy Cambó, Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, Modern Art, Drawings, prints and posters, photography, and Numismatics. All these exhibitions contain a total of 5,900 works.

    From Tuesday to Saturday: Open from 10.00 to 19.00 h.
    Sunday and Public Holidays: Open from 10.00 to 14.30 h.
    Monday: Closed, except Public Holidays
    Closed: January 1st, May 1st and December 25th
    Free Entrance: First Sunday of each month

    Opening times of the shop

    From Tuesday to Saturday: Open from 10.00 to 18.45 h.
    Sunday and Public Holidays: Open from 10.00 to 14.15 h.

    Prices

    General ticket: € 8,50 (valid for two days, permanent collections, temporary exhibitions and audioguide in 7 languages)
