Las Ramblas in Barcelona, the most Famous Walk of Spain

Las Ramblas is undoubtedly the most famous promenade of Barcelona, and probably also in Spain.

It starts at the Plaza Catalunya and ends at the old port, where the monument to Columbus is located.

It seems that life does not stop in these exciting streets, there are always people enjoying the famous flower and animal shops, street actors and painters. You'll also find plenty of cafes, restaurants and other shops.

The Boquería market is the best known commerce and it is right next to La Ramblas. Nearby are other attractions such as the Liceu theatre, the Wax Museum of Barcelona and the Columbus Monument.

These streets are also known as 'La Rambla' but is best known in its plural name because it is divided into different sections that each has its own name.

The walk ends at the Plaza Portal de la Paz, famous for the monument to Columbus, from there the Rambla de Mar takes you to the Maremagnum.

From the Rambla de Mar you cross the Rambla de Santa Mònica, Rambla dels Caputxins, Rambla de Sant Josep, Rambla dels Estudis and finally the Rambla de Canaletes.
